When getting information out to the people is your number one priority, you need your website to deliver. ALAC’s wasn’t. They had great content, but often it went unfound.
When ALAC called for a complete overhaul (new structure, seriously culled content, new ways of loading and managing content to keep it current), Provoke brought more fuel to the fire. Our analysis and design process helped ALAC focus their decision making about what they’d say, as well as how they’d publish it.
ALAC now has a website custom-built to serve their diverse audiences. The structure – based on in-depth discussions with a variety of user groups – allows people to get quickly to their target info, and streamlines regular users’ access to in-depth resources like the ALAC library catalogue.
And they’ve got the power to make sure the site stays hot. Content updating is now handled in-house through the customised InPower™ content management tools, which have been future-proofed with functions for multilingual publishing and distributed authoring, to be introduced as user demand grows.
Provoke won the job primarily because of their quick grasp and understanding of our business and where we wanted to take the website. That combined with the honesty, inspiration and enthusiasm they showed during the tender process made them our unanimous choice. They confirmed our selection during design and delivery: they’ve been great to work with, and they have given us an excellent solution to a pretty big challenge.
They offered broad experience, both in the types of client organisations they’ve worked with and their proven technical capability. Their relationship management is very skilled and they always make us feel like their only client.
Getting information out to people is what we do – it’s one of our statutory responsibilities. So our website is an increasingly important tool for us. Its use has been increasing steadily since the overhaul. Now it is an effective point of access for a vast number of audiences, ranging from school kids to health professionals to academic researchers. Provoke’s excellent design of the user interface has opened up our information resource to its full range of users. We are consistently complimented on having a logical and clean website.
One of the major advantages is the ease with which we can update the website because of the customised InPower CMS. It’s easy to use and covers all the bases in terms of checks before go-live. Overall we have an excellent platform for the future.
