NBNZ | Intranet Foundation for Future

Provoke Solutions partnered with Microsoft to customize and install Microsoft's Content Management System (MSCMS) at the National Bank of New Zealand.

The Project:

The National Bank's e-commerce strategy included plans for upgrading and expanding their existing intranet to ensure the benefits of information-sharing flowed through to their 4900-strong user base. The then-current intranet was difficult to maintain, hard to access, experienced significant bottlenecks and often featured out-of-date information. It was recognised that one key aspect of the new intranet would be improved management of content.

Significant functional add-ons, such as staff classified ads, were included within the project. This was a first for New Zealand - a very large and mission-critical application which brought the intranet to everyone's desk and laid the foundation for all the banks' future web-enabled applications.

What the Client said...

The intranet is now on everyone's desk. Everyone logs on to it every day. It's the only common drive everyone has and is critical to the bank's efficient operation. Provoke played a key role in the customization and implementation of this system bringing in-depth knowledge of the technology to the table. This included excellent skills with SQL Server which drives the MSCMS database, and across the board with Microsoft systems and products. Their experience became very evident in both the design and development of add-ons such as the internal staff classified adverts and similar which needed to integrate with the CMS system. We found Provoke to be methodical, focussed and very professional.

Equally important though was their ability to focus on the benefits to be gained for our business. It was clear that Provoke were not there to build a monument to technology. They know what a big organisation's issues are and can deal with them. Provoke's own INCITE package was installed to manage communication between us and was really good to use throughout the development process. Provoke's project management discipline and rigour was also good. They have excellent client management processes and skills.
